Research Interest
Andy Gostisha graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Psychology. His research interests in the SPIT lab focus on the biological bases of antisocial behavior and psychopathy, specifically the role of hormone-body interactions throughout development, and focusing on adolescence. He has previously pursued psychopathy research in the lab of Dr. Joseph Newman, and began investigating the role of hormones and psychopathy with Drs. Vitacco and Shirtcliff on a collaborative project at the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center in Madison, WI. He hopes to better understand the interplay between the biological, emotional, and cognitive processes as they pertain to the development of antisocial behavior in hopes of eventually better targeting interventions for antisocial behavior that act on these hormones.
