Research Interest
Katherine Lau graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in May 2004. She is a second year graduate student in the Applied Developmental Psychology program at UNO and is currently working with Dr. Monica Marsee in the Youth Social and Emotional Developmental Lab.
Her research interests include studying personality traits (psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism), emotional regulation, and cognition in relation to violent, antisocial, and aggressive behavior (proactive relational and overt). By identifying individuals who are at high risk to commit aggressive behaviors we are better equipped to create and improve programs in the areas of prevention and treatment.
