Sept. 9: Psi Chi Annual Meet & Greet located in the Psychology Student Lounge (GP 2026) at 12:30 pm. Come by to meet professors and fellow psychology majors, find out about some psychology research you can get involved in and get college credit for (PSYC 3090) Sept. 16: Whole chapter meeting at 12:30-1:30 p.m. in GP 2026 Sept 21: Graduate Workshop 4:30-6:00 p.m. GP 2013. Here you can learn how to go about getting letters of recommendation, writing your Personal Statement, and all the processes and procedure you need to do in order to get into graduate school which is very helpful. Sept. 30: Psi Chi Social, we are not sure where this will occur because we are leaving it up to the members to discuss and decide on at the first chapter meeting Oct. 2: GRE Practice Test at UNO, this event is not sponsored by Psi Chi but we greatly encourage attendance because it will be very helpful when you need to take the GRE Oct. 5: Kaplan Graduate School Admissions Seminar 4:30 - 6:30 GP 2013. This also reviews in detail and helps you learn how to get through all you have to do in order to get into graduate school. Describes how to write a personal statement as well as what should be included and much more Oct. 21: Chapter meeting GP 2026 12:30 p.m. Oct. 21: Grad Night 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in GP 2013. Grad Night has many guest speakers from different graduate programs that you may be interested in, what the courses are and a desription of them, the curriculum, what you can do after getting a degree there, and their admission requirements. Gives great detail about the different graduate schools you can attend. Also if you are interested in a particular one that may not be coming you can let us know in one of our chapter meetings or via e-mail and we will try to get someone to come in if not at least get the materials describing it. Most programs provide lots of handouts and materials so be prepared to leave very informed. Oct. 26: Kaplan GRE Preview Class GP 2013 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. This goes into about all the GRE test will cover as well as how to work out problems in efficient time, how much time you will have for each section, what each section covers, as well as going over some harder math problems on there. Nov. 18: Chapter meeting (GP 2026) 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21: Second Harvest Volunteer Day 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Second Harvest Food Bank (7 more volunteers needed; please e-mail psichi@uno.edu if interested). Dec. 20: Graduate Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in GP 2026 (Student Lounge). Fall 2009 Psychology Graduates along withtheir friends and families are invited to attend.
